From Bill Schofield '46: "Thanks for your reunion letter. My wife (Jackie) & I were planning to see everyone once again at the class of 1946 reunion "BUT" I'm in Sacramento, CA. and it was going to cost over $3,500 just for gas. Soo we will not make it back this year.
Thanks again,
from Dennise Twombly Holzinger '59: "After graduating from college, I taught mostly elementary grades for thirty-four years, mostly in Kittery, ME. I have been married to my husband, Jim, for the past thirty-nine years. We have been living in Florida for four years now; actually we spend the winters there and travel the states in our motorhome during the rest of the year. I will be unable to attend the reunion as we have had plans to travel and tour most of the northwestern states this summer. Hi to all my former classmates!"
from Ed Smith '54's wife: "To Ed's classmates: He passed away a couple of weeks ago (4/19/2008) from many diseases. He is at peace with God and very comfortable. We celebrated our 50th anniversary last fall. I miss him terribly, but he has no more pain. I'll miss everyone there but I cannot make the trip because I'm not well and am in a wheel chair. Have fun!!" Signed, Peg Smith
From Donald McIntire '48: " "I truly hope to make one of these!!"
From Bennett Twombly '54: "My best wishes for continued good health to all of you who have made it this far. God has been good. Remember to thank Him. We were blessed with a birth in the richest nation on the face of this planet. And in a home and school environment such as York, with the quality of teachers and administrators, most youngsters today don't have. Thank them when you get the chance. They gave us a great start."
From Constance Bridges Reagor '47: "Hello from sunny Arizona: I wish I could be there with you, have missed all the reunions. Having lived all over the country, 8 states to be exact, I was not in the position to do so. Other than being in a wheelchair part of the time because of bad knees, I feel great! I shall be thinking about you and all that wonderful seafood."
From Lou and Eleanor Lajoie (57) "Hi to all in the Yorks. We will not be able to join you but send our best wishes to everyone."
From Carol (Garcia) Bennett '65: "Sorry I cannot attend. Say hello to all my YHS pals from 1965."
From Billie (Chase) Gallagher '47: "Our anniversary is September 19th and this year we have been married 55 years. I;m sorry we cannot attend."
Larry Perry Class of ’65, “Last reunion I was a recent widower and everyone made me feel so welcomed. Thanks. This year I am a newlywed and the Lord has blessed me with His best for me. Oh and my youngest daughter whom I brought with me last time is going to bless me with my first grandson. God bless you all and know that I am truly happy.”
From Albert Haskell '43 daughter: "My father is residing in an Assisted Living Facility and has Parkinsons. Regretfully, he will not be able to attend. Thank you, Cindy Scott, Albert's Daughter"
"Ruth Pretiz '45 - Ruth's husband, Paul Pretiz sent a note as follows: "The menu made our mouths water. Sorry we can't make it. Ruth has been disabled since 2000 with a stroke, and traveling would be very difficult. Greetings to all in her class."
